About Net Set GO

The Net Set GO program is delivered through the various netball associations in Australia.  Raiders Netball Club is a member of the Redlands Netball Association (RNA) and  provides the Net Set Go program for young players.

Net Set GO is divided into three programs – Net, Set and GO, meaning that your child will learn at a pace that’s right for their age and ability (NB: These age brackets are only a guideline for centres and coaches).

Net Program

The Net program is designed for 5 to 7 year olds and teaches fundamental motor skills through dance, music and games.  The Net program involves one weekday training session and is offered in the afternoon at Raiders Netball Club training courts in Thorneside.

Children are registered through the Net Set GO website.  The cost is $120 which covers the weekly training sessions, player insurance and includes a participants pack (free training shirt and ball).

Players are encouraged to wear their Net Set GO t-shirt and comfy shorts or skort suitable for running in as well as sneakers.  And remember to bring a hat and water bottle.

Set Go Programs

The Set program is for 7 to 8 year olds and focuses on refining fundamental motor skills and introduces modified netball matches.  The Under 7’s teams at Raiders Netball Club deliver the Set program.

The Go program is for 9 to 10 year olds and focuses on developing netball specific skills through modified netball matches.  The Under 10’s teams at Raiders Netball Club deliver the Go program.

Raiders Netball Club is accredited to run the Net Set GO program as part of the annual netball club season.  The training times for these teams are determined by the availability of the coaches and players once the teams are finalised.  Training is at the Raiders netball courts in Thorneside.  The modified games are part of the RNA competition on Saturday’s at Pinklands Sporting Grounds, Thornlands.

Players need to register with Raiders Netball Club.  The normal club fees cover the weekly training sessions, Saturday games, registration with the Redlands Netball Association and player insurance.  Registration fees with Raiders Netball Club are $325 for the first child, $295 for the second and $285 for subsequent children making it the lowest priced club for families in the RNA.

As children progress through the program they will begin to play simple matches, usually in the “Set” tier with modified net set go rules and modified equipment, ie. shorter hoops.  The modified competition for beginner’s netball allows children to learn the flow and purpose of the game without having to adhere to the full netball rules.
